I am seeing different types of uniforms and vehicles that I know are police and or Army but don't know who is who. Can someone describe the uniforms of the various groups...local, Federales, Army....etc. Thanks!

Here is my understanding

Local (Municipal) Police wear navy blue although their tourist police division wears white uniforms and shorts
State police wear gray military fatigues
Army weary OD fatigues or Sand colored fatigues
Investigative police and Ministerio Publico are planclothes
Traffic Cops (Transitos) wear white shirts with blue pants

The army wears green/sand fatigues.

The estatales wear black/gold fatigues.

The federales wear all black.

The municipales wear dark blue.

I think the tourist police wear regular stuff now. I remember them in Ajijic and than reading something that said they don't wear the white anymore.
Have not seen the ice cream suits in a year or so. Anybody remember this?

Saw those cute tourist police boys on bicycles in white shorts and shirts just last week in Chapala while Harvey and I were waiting for the light to change. I just love driving over there to see the folks walking on that boardwalk. It's just so nice. Kinda like back on in the summer on Saturday night when we all went uptown.
