On an earlier thread called "how can we honor Abel" there were a number of ideas for the expat community to show sympathy for the families that lost their sons a few weeks ago.

One idea was a collection to cover the costs of the funerals and this is an idea I support. A report in El Informador quotes one family member saying that his family had trouble meeting these expenses. This family tragically had only the son's head to bury as the body was not recovered.

I'm very willing to donate to such a fund for these local families. I am wondering did such a collection get underway. How can I contribute?

A group is working on it.
Ir is easier to love Mexico than to understand it.

I will be watching for how to donate,. I read the same news article in the Informador. Horrible enough to lose a loved one in such a manner, but to have no money to bury them is really sad. The article also said the families of the victims were receiving no counseling.
