My advice is stay away from Italika and Vento. Their quality is very poor. Having had scooters including those makes and motorcycles I would recommend Suzuki which we have now.
The 125 cc Suzuki motorcyle has 12.5 horsepower (22,000 pesos new with helmet) which almost no one comes even close to matching for power. The 150 cc (29,000 pesos with helmet) which friends are getting today has slightly more.
Most scooters and motorcycles sold in Mexico have 8 or 9 HP in this class. If you are considering Honda, note they cost more and they do not have the same power as in the US. They are simply lesser engines as we had a Honda Elite scooter.
We live down a 3 km cobblestone road and would recommend bigger wheels than the scooters they sell in Mexico.
Top speed on the Suzuki 125 is 100 km / hr. We have also had a Honda Unicorn 150 and a Baja Avenger 200 and both cost 37000 p and top speed on each was the same as our 125 Suzuki.
All these companies have Mexican web sites.
