I will be back at Lakeside this week and staying for three months this time.

I'm getting a pre-paid Mexican cell phone while I'm there. Since I'm not at Lakeside full time yet, but back and forth between Lakeside and Houston, I'd like to know some particulars about pre-paid.

How long are the minutes good? Do they expire in 90 days? other than that?

When I leave Lakeside to come back NoB, there may be several months before I'm back down there again. Is there a way to buy minutes so I'm sure I keep the cell number active? I'd be surprised to learn that it's possible to buy minutes online, but I'd be happy to be shown otherwise!

Suggestions for the best way to handle this are most appreciated.

You can recharge your phone in the US - see here: http://www.telcel.com/portal/personas/amigo/recarga/recarga_extranjero.html?mid=1116#

Your minutes are good for 60 days, and as long as you recharge the phone with at least 100 pesos, unused minutes roll over.

Wonderful! Thank you! That's great news.
