I have such very sad news to share with everyone. Our beloved Pancho (owner of Los Cinco Potrillos) has died. His funeral will be tonight around the block from Cinco’s: Ignacio Allende #11, around 9 or 10 pm.
The restaurant will be closed for three days for mourning.
He will be buried tomorrow. A sign on the door of the restaurant will give the details.
Lupita, Pancho’s wife, wants all those people who frequented Los Cinco Potrillos to know. The restaurant will remain open in Ixtlahuacan after the period of mourning. Tere came by to let us know this morning so we could let everyone else know.
In respect, I think we should all avoid gossiping. His death had nothing to do with the challenges the Lake Chapala area has been experiencing.
Pancho was a good man, a good father and husband. And he was a good, involved citizen of Ixtlahuacan. We will miss him terribly. I can’t stop crying!

Is anyone taking up a collection for his family? I´d love to donate. He will be VERY sorely missed.

Such sad news his death is but I wonder why you would jump to taking up a collection for his family. They do run a successful establishment. Wouldn't that be insulting. How about sponsoring a mass or two instead.
Unfortunately it is now SHE who will run the business and it will be shut for who knows how long til Lupita can get herself and family "back together." I think taking up a collection is a very nice gesture and that the money will be put to good use until the restaurant opens again.

I'm saddened that he has left this planet so early and am so sad for his family. RIP, Pancho.
