I had read Natbug's post and I typed incorrectly Yes, I should have said 11 on Friday and 12 on Saturday.

I used to live in a rental where there were loud parties down the street a couple of nights a week that lasted until 4 in the morning. There was also a "neighborhood" bar/home down a cross street that played loud music until very late a couple of different nights a week. Then they built an Eventos 2 blocks from me that played music as well. I have excellent hearing and am very sensitive to a strong bass line. it can actually cause me pain-and the bass line is what carries. I have noticed that almost none of the music I have heard carried a strong/too strong bass line.
The sounds used to bounce off all the brick walls so much you really had a hard time telling where the music was coming from. I actually thought it was my otherwise ultra quiet neighbors across the street for a time.
Most nights we sleep with all the windows open as we love fresh air at night. Rarely, we had to actually close the windows and turn on a floor fan for some 'white noise". That did the trick every time, and kept us cool.
The vast majority of the time I just laughed and said "Well, welcome to Mexico", closed my eyes and went to sleep. I love the exuberant embracing of life that is such a part of the Mexican culture. If something annoyed me enough I guess I'd move. Changing the culture/laws is out of the question. I moved here in part to escape all the rules and regulations on my life is the States.
And besides, I'm so busy that by the time I go to bed it doesn't really matter what's going on outside I'm too tired to care.
Now I live in the rural area. At night I listen/fall asleep to-rockets, dogs barking, the burro across the road, cows AND the parties at homes in the area.
I remember the saying "America, love it or leave it." Mexico, love it or leave it.
Just saying.
This will be my last post on this topic as none of us are going to change our minds here. Sorry for the long post. I'm tired and just wanted to get this stuff off my chest.
Good night all.

That's right. You don't live here. We do. We know where the noise is coming from. We have gone out in the street to confirm it a number of times. Neighbors have gone over there and asked them to turn it down. We've asked them to turn it down. The neighbor whose house is now basically unrentable has been consulting attorneys and trying to figure out how to sue for damages.
I'm glad it is your last post as you obviously don't know the situation here and aren't qualified to comment on it. Perhaps you are trying to rationalize your support of a business that is a bad neighbor to us because you like going there. You have that right however selfish it may appear to us. However, to imply that we, who live with this situation week in and week out don't know where the noise is coming from, is pure nonsense and frankly insulting.
This isn't Mexican culture or our Mexican neighbors. It is gringo "culture" played too loud late at night for gringos, for profit by a business. Keep going there but don't come here and post nonsense about something you don't know about. Come over here and stand in my bedroom at 11PM and maybe you will then have a clue. Until then, please skip the straw man lectures about Mexicans and Mexican culture. Thanks.
