Dr. Guillermo Avalos is mine, and he'll be doing surgery on me this afternoon, along with retinologist, Dr. Roig. They saved my sight after retinal collapse in one eye, eight years ago, and the other eye is now starting to detach & needs attention.
He has moved to new offices at 1208 Ruben Dario, Providencia, Guadalajara. 01-333-641-0972 or 0981. The building is Torre Ghenza and there is underground parking entered at the front. He's on 4th floor.

We second RV Gringo's recommendation for Dr. Avalos. He has his own clinic for operations.

Dr. Pint does not operate a clinic here, so surgery has to be done in Guad. It is very important to have an operating room that is not used for other things (e.g. colonoscopies) and so far no one had built one here altho Dr. Pint has talked about doing so.

His name is Dr.Pinto. We used him for a regular eye exam. He is very nice and seems knowledgable. I wear contacts and my husband wears glasses. We would use him again.

Dr.Pinto is an ophthalmologist, a doctor treating diseases of the eyes and performing surgeries of the eyes.

Dr.Pinto moved to Chapala from Guadalajara where he and his father, also an eye doctor, were very well
known. He stil has some of his old Guadalajara patients come to Chapala for their check ups.

My advice is to go to Guad for anything serious or see the opthamologist who comes to Dermika twice a week. Her name is also Dra. Monica so you will need to clarify you want the eye doctor. She comes highly recommended.

I have used Dr Pinto for eye infections etc, but when it came to a detached retina, he referef me to a doctor in Guad Dr Rene Santillon Lomas who has an office at hosp Angeles del Carmen and is manager of the ProVista Clinin in Guad. His father was from Oklahoma so his English is flawless PM me if you want his cell phone number. He has operated on me for retina and cataracts and is now treating me for glaucoma. he has numerous contacts when specialized tests etc are required (as I am sure they all do). The Ruben Dario area seems to be the eye surgeon center for Guad.

I see Dr. Paczka at the Guadalajara office on Justo Sierra just off Chapultapec and he sees people without Glaucoma as well. Speaks excellent English and very thorough.
