I have always cremated my own pets in my fireplace and then scattered the ashes NOB. Have not had to deal with this since arriving here.
I am sorry but I will have nightmares about this thought tonight.

I'd like to hear more about DIY pet cremation. I assume this is for a small pet?

Please please please - respond to this by PM. No disrespect to anyone, but clearly a lot of us are uncomfortable with this discussion. Thanks.

When I had to have Sonja euthanized on 26 December of last year, Ladron's charged $1,800 (I think or was it $1,200?), which included a beautiful ceramic urn. They do them individually so the urn only contains Sonja's ashes and is not mixed with any other animal.
I also would rather have my pet cremated individually and not mixed with who knows what. Just my feelings. Sometimes you do have to pay more to get it done right.

since our Petey is a 90 lb yellow Lab - this is not a small problem for an old
lady with no yard space.

Dr Pepe has a "ranch" and he buries animals there. He did that
for our dog.
