Beware crossing at Columbia as you have to take the desolate Hwy 2. It is the Laredo to Piedras Negras road after passing Columbia and has seen the deaths of about 17 sicarios in shootouts with the military of Federal Police in the last two weeks.

Well, as long as all of the road isn't open and you still go through Orejos, you can still gas up just before you hit that short bypass there. But when the rest of the road opens soon, there probably won't be a Pemex until V. Arriaga at the end of the new road and just before the SLP corta cuota.
