I am not worried about the narco violence and I do not have my head in the sand.
Thanks for the help.

The staff at the B&B is extraordinarily helpful, regarding how to get to places, when to go, etc. All you need is a Fodors, Frommers, etc. guide...there's so much to see we will return this fall for another round. FYI: before we got there, we were prepared to pay for a tour, but after talking with fellow B&B guests, we realized it wasn't necessary. Every morning at breakfast and most evenings at wine time, all the guests shared where they went the day before and the hosts of the B&B offered their insider info, too.
Here are links to the B&B's website and to reviews of it on tripadvisor.com

If they want to reserve at The Red Tree House, they need to do it quickly. The B&B is often sold out--it's by far the best one in the city. The airport is a quick cab ride from there.I have a couple coming to see us in Ajijic but first they are going to stay in Mexico City for 3 dyas. Can anyone recommend tour and hotel for them? The hotel preferably near the airport as they will be flying in and out.

Thanks for the help.
I often give tours of the city and would be happy to talk with you about what your friends would like. And I live literally around the corner from The Red Tree House!

Has anyone taken a Mexcio City tour around the city?
Has anyone taken a tour of the Pyramids of Tehuacan?

Happy feet, I don't think it's possible to take a tour all around Mexico City--it's just too big. If you contact me by PM, I can design a specific tour for your friends that will incorporate the things that interest them most and are most do-able in a day or two days. And PS, the pyramids just to the north of the city are "Teotihuacán".

The ruins and Museum at Templo Mayor are very interesting and they are just by the Zocalo.
There are lots of tours offered by hotels. The city have the buses you can hop in and out of to see the city, you can hire cabs and other drivers to take you around.
You can also take the subway.

I think anyone who hired More Liana for a custom tour would be the luckiest tourists in all of DF!
I did hire her and it was really a great value. I learned so much!!
If I would do it again, I would hire Christina the first day and ask her to teach me how to use the subway and buses. There is so much to see in that City and it is really great having someone show you the ropes.
