Can anyone suggest a decent, inexpensive hotel in La Manzanillo? One with Mexican, not gringo prices? Been there many times but not to stay. Also, does anyone know how to get there by bus?

Have never been there so, sorry, can't help you out with the hotel part, but I'm sure many on here can. I do know there are 15 buses a day going there from GDL, just search on the ETN website:

The Pink Posada. Getting there by bus ain't easy, you have to go all the way back into GDL first, to the new bus terminal which, unfortunately, isn't served by bus from here.

I'm sure someone will elaborate further.

You can get a local taxi directly to the new terminal for around $350 or take the bus to the old terminal for $45 and then take a taxi to the other terminal for, I believe, around $50. I haven't done all of these routes myself yet, but those are the approximate costs others have quoted me when they did it last year.

The poster is enquiring about La Manzanilla and not Mazanillo.

Yes, La Manzanilla info please. And I know how to find the bus station; I was just wondering if anyone had firsthand knowledge. I'm guessing I have to go to Manzanillo and transfer to another bus up the coast...

Yes, just get down to the coast and then grab one of the buses that go north up the coast and get off in La Manz. Have a great time there, wonderful beach, food, and nice people. One of my favorite beaches on the coast.

I think there was a recent thread on getting to Melaque, see if you can find it. La Manz is just up the coast from Melaque.

The Pink Posada is in Manzanillo and the OP is asking about La Manzanilla.

there is a website listing the hotels in La Manzanilla...just pull up the site on google, I stayed in the Manz Hotel on the beach...clean, 3 bdrm, reasonable rates. But it was last fall with a hot ocean. NOT a good time to go.

If you take the coastal buses heading for Vallarta you'll have to walk in from the highway. Take a local bus to La Manz from Melaque
