My problem,, last year for some reason, my wife's fm3 was was delayed and now her renewal date is early May while mine is early April. Till then they were always the same date and I sure hate to have to do 2 sessions instead of one at immigration.
How early can you renew fm3

30 days in advance. If one of you imported a vehicle and paid a deposit, I'd make sure that person renewed 30 days in advance to not lose the deposit.

Spencer,
This will be our 4th renewal on our FM3 and we will use your services again this year as we did last year. Will we be able to pay more for the extended 5 year visa if we can provide required financial info, etc or must we wait another year until our original 5 years are up?

Currently under the old law in operation it is only annually, the new law raises fees and also lets you renew for 1, 2, 3 or 4 years at a time.

I applied for renewal last year bout 28 days before expiration -it happened to coincide with the day they changed all info on their web site- people in Im. office were totally confused some using old forms some using new web forms- any idea when new law will be implemented ? visa was renewed but with a month earlier expiration date now due March 28th- instead of April.Currently under the old law in operation it is only annually, the new law raises fees and also lets you renew for 1, 2, 3 or 4 years at a time.

To get your renewals back to the same date, apply when the earliest one is due. The person with the later date has the right to change status at any time. It will cost more, but changing from 'no inmigrante' to 'inmigrante' by the person with the later renewal date would do the trick. We did that last year, for the same reason. Now, if they don't get the new rules published soon, we'll have to pay the higher price for another year. Catch 22!
