I just walked past Laurent's and they had an announcement on the chalkboard: Laurent closing. Last day the 25th.
Anyone know any more about it?

Hopefully it's only for vacation. Please post what you learn.

It's been a tough season for the restaurants. Laurent takes vacation in May, so I think he's done here.

I saw a sign today saying they were closed for a private party.

Where? I talked to him tonight to make a reservation for Saturday night. He said that's his last night.

If he is closing, I am really disappointed. We have eaten there on a number of occasions and have always enjoyed it. Not good news.

Well, went there tonight. One of my wife's and I favorite restaurants. It is done. Laurent told us he is moving on to some South American country. What can I say, he will be missed greatly.

An invitation to operate a restaurant in Mendoza, Argentina was irresistible. Something like being invited to oversee a restaurant in Napa Valley. Thanks gringal for alerting us to the closure so we could get one more memorable time in at his table.
