A friend is on the road toward our area and has broken his plug that fits the 12v outlet in his car and powers his Garmin.
Does anybody know where he might find such a part locally, or in Guadalajara.

Looks like Garmin uses "Mini-USB" cable (not the smaller "Micro USB").
There are many devices that use similar adapters (my Tom Tom does).
You can find them many places - probably even tianguis and/or walmart and/or soriana and/or the Sony store in Ajijic.
Failing that, Best Buy or Radio Shack in Guadaqlajara.

Good luck

Thanks.
They arrive tomorrow & we'll follow your advice with the old cord in hand.
They're spending the night in Tepic, so I doubt they'll go out shopping tonight.
