Friends of Al Tracey

On behalf of Al's wife Deb, we would like to invite you all to stop by the bar this Friday afternoon at around 5:00 to remember Al Tracey, who passed away last Friday at the age of 70. He will be greatly missed!

Come see us this week at The Bar of Johnny's Mama, where you can enjoy a full glass of house red or white wine for just 30 pesos, as well as cold beer or your favorite mixed drink for very reasonable prices. You can also order off our expanded menu at prices ranging from 30 to 80 pesos for appetizers to burgers to dinners. And we continue to offer our Friday "off-the-menu" Special. This Friday's special will be Chicken or Beef Fajitas for 60 pesos. Remember, our kitchen is open Monday through Saturday from noon until 7:00 PM.

Also, if you haven't yet joined us for "Karaoke Friday", you are missing a great time! Hosted by Stan & Yvonne with their state-of-the-art sound and video system, as well as a catalog of well over 10,000 songs in both English and Spanish, we are continually attracting new and talented entertainers from our Lakeside Community. As always, the singing begins at 5:30 sharp and usually winds down around 9:30 PM. So, we want to invite you to come join us this Friday and enjoy great entertainment! Benefit for Janie Carruth

For all of you friends of Janie, we are having a Benefit here at The Bar of Johnny's Mama next Wednesday, the 23rd of May from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Entertainment will be provided by Stan & Yvonne, and we'll have lots of botanas (appetizers) for you to snack on. There will be a silent auction of local products and services, fortune telling (palm reading / tarot cards) and the "Wheel of Misfortune" for your added entertainment. Tickets 100 pesos and will be on sale here at the door.

We will be having a memorial for Buddy, who passed away recently. Please come by the bar this Wednesday at 4:00 to get together with mutual friends and remember and share the good times we had with Buddy, who will be truly missed.

Are the chili dogs only available only on Friday during karaoke or can they be ordered anytime?. Also would you please start a new thread starting in July so we don't have to scroll the entire thread from January to the end of the year for information. A lot of people won't do it and you are missing a lot of readers on the forum. Just a suggestion, not complaint. Would love to see your daily menu on line some day. Thanks, Jeanne.

Jeanne...sorry about not responding sooner, but the answer is yes, chile dogs are on our daily menu, but occaisionally we offer them on karaoke night at a reduced price. As to the problem of finding our last posting, you need only click on the date to the far right of the line for "Johnny's Mama's Bar - 2012"...which right now is a post from bigd...but I think your suggestion is a good one, about starting a new thread. Remember, this Friday we have Karaoke with Stan & Yvonne as your hosts; the entertainment is from 5:00 until 9:00 PM. Our Weekly Special will be Arrechera with Baked Potato, Guacamole & Frijoles for 80 pesos. Again, please let us know if you wish to reserve a table.

Also, we will be hosting an event featuring Melodia Acustica on Wednesday, the 25th of this month. Starting at 3:00 in the afternoon, the group will be performing songs from their new world music CD. We will be serving Taquizas, with an assortment of 5 different Mexican entrees. Finally, for the price of 150 pesos, you will also receive a copy of the new CD; that's entertainment, food and a free CD for each person with a ticket. So please stop by as soon as possible to purchase your tickets, as the number available will be limited.

First, I want to thank all of you who purchased tickets to our event this Wednesday featuring Melodia Acustica. We are going to have a great turn-out, and look forward to seeing you all here. Also, starting next week, we are planning to have live music every Wednesday afternoon; I'll be providing details soon. Finally, I hope you will be joining us again this Friday starting at 5:00 PM for Karaoke with Stan & Yvonne. We continue to have a great line-up of singers and a near capacity crowd for this weekly event. Our special this Friday will be a Monte Cristo Sandwich with Shrimp or Turkey and Coleslaw for 70 pesos.
