i have been told by a local that there is a chain of super walmart's called superama. Anyone know if there is one near the costco or sam's club in Zapopan via Joco? Would like to check it out. Specifically, I'm looking for Kool Whip, but really just want to scope it out for future reference.

Super Lake has Kool Whip in their freezer department, save a trip to Guadalajara.

I have my doubts that Superama carries Cool Whip. They have fancy breads and imported wines but I really don't think they carry products such as Cool Whip.

Yes they do. The Superama on Lopez Mateos is like an ugly step sister to the other Superama's. The one on Azteca is very good.
From Lazero Cardenas exit for Lopez Mateos just past the arches.. Stay to your right and turn right onto Lopez Mateos by the Pemex Station. Go to the circle and go half way around to continue on Lopez Mateoos When you get to the second circle go 2/3 of the way around and exit onto Golfo de Cortes.
When you get to the next circle go to the 3rd exit and continue on Golfo de Cortes.and follow it to Azteca. Go to the circle and you will see Superama across on the other side.
Ir is easier to love Mexico than to understand it.

I agree with the statement above. That is the only Superama we have been to (on Lopez Mateos) and I could not understand what was the fuss all about..
Will have to check the other ones now.

I understand there is also an Aladino's in the Burger King plaza - many imported products. The Superama plaza is before the Burger King plaza as you head back to Jocotopec. Some friends love the imported beer selection and the prices in Superama. I have found things like ground veal and a few things that are difficult to find in that Superama - when I don't feel like going all the way to the one on Azteca.

They don't. I was there yesterday looking for it and Pancho told me the batch he received was bad and has to be discarded.

Buy some whipping cream and make your own. Add powdered sugar and vanilla at the end of whipping. It's way better!
