IE 9 and Windows 7, no scrolling no ads and it doesn't matter whether I use full or partial screen.

As with the previous version, the ads are there if you go in through the chapala.com homepage and select "webboard" from the list on the right. I do like that when I italicize or highlight text now, I see the actual style, rather than code.

Yes, but this didn't seem like a good time to get into a whole technical description for everyone. And in truth, a 19" monitor would absolutely clear up the issue, unless the viewer sets an unusually low resolution.

I have a 23 in monitor and still have the problem. What would be considered a low resolution?
This is the only site I have a problem with (since the overnight changes)
Thanks

Wow, really? Then you most likely have, as someone suggested, a very low screen resolution setting, maybe 800 x 600. Do you vision problems, perhaps? In XP, Vista, and W7, you can access the video display settings by right-clicking on your desktop and following the menus. You should be able to get 1680 x 1050 or thereabouts, depending on your CPU. If you have an older computer, it may not be powerful enough on the video end to support a decent resolution on a large monitor.

On the other hand, you say this is the only site you have a problem with... have you tried the zoom-out keyboard shortcut mentioned? Hold down CTRL and press the minus key ( - ) up beside the + key.

Brand new (month old) PC with win7. (Quad core) I tried the zoom in and out and it makes the print tiny. Very odd. The resolution is high, just peeked at it. No huge deal just weird and annoying. I tried all the links on the other thread and still get the ads on the right and have to scroll or squint. Not the end of the world, just strange. Thanks for trying, I appreciate it!

PS I do use reading glasses but never need them for the computer. I guess I need to find them and keep them close.

Most interesting. I guess I'd have to see it to figure it out. I can't imagine why this would happen to only one site. The site itself uses active resizing; that is, if you shrink the window, the contents restructure themselves to fit.

I don't mind the change...but it looks like the topics I had set as notifications are now gone?....Kind of stinks because I was saving that information for later reference...:(

click on the poster you wish to PM, then on the right of their page is a "send me a message" button. I tried to send you a message and got a response saying that you cannot receive any more messages...

No you don't need to do that.

Hold your mouse over the person's name and a box pops up allowing you to send PM's as well as a number of other functions.

It's interesting reading the responses to the new software. Carol - I use a laptop with a 15 inch monitor and the new software is a delight. I like the tabs at the top that let me go to new listings and even configure these to my own needs. Gary - I use a netbook and it's difficult for me to now have only part of the screen showing. I didn't even know about some of the buttons Carol found so helpful. Couldn't see them. Maybe I'll be using Carol's laptop more often now!

From both of us, thanks to all who worked to improve the site. We find this a valuable and fun place to "hang out".
