Allright, lets turn it around for a moment. My Mexican landlord's son (16 years old and fairly fluent in English) goes to Guadalajara 1X per week to learn English beyond what the schools teach down here. This takes 4 hours and my landlord waits in Guad until it is complete once each week. Are there any NorthAmericans who are well qualified to teach English to a Spanish student, thus saving the trip to Guadalajara? He is fluent enough but needs more time with an English speaking tutor. Thanks. EEK!

The young man may wish to enroll, at the next opportunity, for the free English Classes at the Wilkes Biblioteca in Ajijic which is sponsored by LCS. There is no charge for classes, except for the books, and there are several levels of instruction. He will be given a placement interview.
Bueno suerte......

I teach English at a school in Ajijic and also caryy a TEFL certification. I would be more than happy to take on a student who needs private tutoring. I have plenty of references if need be.
If interested, just p.m. me

Also they teach ESL all different levels at the Baptist Church in Riberas. But they are headed for their summer break.

They charge 5 pesos a class.

MDH, Bill Sanders, taught ESL at the local Library while he was in Oaxaca. He is fluent in both languages, so knows a lot of the pitfalls Spanish speakers often encounter. PM me if interested.
