Toronto Accommodation to suggest/offer?

My home is Chapala. Weighing options to travel back to Toronto - fly or drive this month. Does anyone have suggestions for reasonable accommodation or place to base in the city? People in the know may have connections... there are also people on this forum who are in the throws of moving down here from Toronto. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks. Many are so thoughtful and willing.

What part of the city do you want to be in? How long will you be staying? And are you interested in possibly doing a home exchange? Exchanges do not have to be simulataneous. I can't offer you my place as I have a tenant moving in but I can ask around for you. I live downtown in a lovely historic area called The Distillery.

Thanks Jeannie and Torontonian. The Distillery I know very well. I had a Victorian house in Corktown; a duplex in Hillcrest Village, townhouse in the Annex, and downtown condos. Yes, need to be downtown to get around on foot and TTC. This may be a short trip but would consider more lengthy another time for home exchange.
