At 3pm today at the Ajijic pier, Antonio Pulido Cortez of Chapala smiles from ear to ear after landing this carp measuring 23+ inches. No boat or pole, just a line, hook, and weight, baited with a corn tortilla. Life is good.

There are some big fish out there. Two years ago a fisherman in San Juan Cosala caught a carp weighing 43 kilos! Fishing in Lake Chapala is fun as the carp are always hungry and believe it or not the fishermen use corn tortilla strips for bait.

the biggest carp and catfish are found near Mezcala, thats were the last is the deepest....
