I don't think so but we have "stuff" that can be swapped for drugs or turned into cash to buy drugs.

The thieves here are only looking for small items that they can easily carry, like, money, cell phones, cameras and jewelry. Stuff to fence, get pesos for and buy drugs.
I don't carry insurance just for theft. I mainly carry it for earthquakes and especially Liability insurance. Anyone working on your property that gets hurt, YOU are fully responsible for until they can get back to work.

ANY drugs, even aspirin, can be sold on the street for a few pesos. That's a few pesos more than the thief had yesterday. Drugs like blood pressure medicine and heart medicine are out of reach for some Mexicans so they buy it on the street wherever they can get it cheap.

So far I have been lucky and my furniture has never burst into flames. I rather doubt that any ladron is interested in my Plavix.
