QUOTE (losgatos @ Mar 1 2009, 02:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Me, I'm just glad I made it out sane and relatively solvent and found my way to Lakeside several years ago.
That's the best quote of the week or month by far! I'd have to say amen to that for a lot of us, certainly for me. I was sitting looking out at the lake and 70 degrees, after hearing a major snow is expected in the East, wondering why it took me 65 years to find this slice of paradise.

As I sat I was reflecting on how when I started out into the world, I had book shelves made of cinder blocks and boards, a couple pieces of furniture, a black & white TV and a stereo (only recently invented). Now on the other end of life I have a recliner, a couple of end tables, a TV, a stereo and a computer. But, as losgatos noted, I still have my sanity so I guess that means I'm a "winner" in life's great lottery.

We also have bought from C & D andhave found them to be very accommodating and priced fairly.
Mubeles Placentia (one of Guadalajara's largest furniture stores) is presently having there bi-yearly sale at Expo Guadalajara. Very good prices.

Thanks for the replies. What and where is C & D?

Industrias del Toro in Ocotlan is having a big sale for discontinued furniture next Saturday starting at 9:00 A.M. To get there take the Chapala/Guadalajara Road and turn to the right when you see the sign for La Barca / Ocotlan. Follow the road for about 45 to 1 hour and you will be in Ocotlan. Past the town center (Centro) and keep on going. There is a web site in this board with directions and phone numbers. A friend and I are going next Saturday if you want to follow. We will be leaving at 7:30 A.M.

Maybe Hensley knows what will be available at the bazar/yard sale for the casa de ancianos.

So far only nice coffee tables, Maytag washer & Dryer and very nice semi new Acros white stove and a beautiful blue with yellow and orange flowered sofa and love seat, vacuums, and lots of other items, not sure on prices yet come out and see on March 14th & 15th in the parking lot behind SuperLake 10 am - 6 pm.

Cedros,
Muebles del Lago has two locations; the new branch in Ajijic and the original store in Chapala. Which are you talking about?
