Personally, I think you have done a wonderful job with this and appreciate having all that information available so easily. Many thanks.

John - those are not live links. You need to copy and past them but they work perfectly.

Looks wonderful and very helpful, thanks mucho!
One suggestion, one question: would it be possible to move now-column 4 (Canada-USA generic) between now-columns 1 and 2 (USA brand and Canada brand)? That would move the USA and Canada generics closer to the brand name columns, and put the Mexico brand/Mexico generics next to each other. This would be helpful, I imagine, for people looking to copy information down to take to their farmacia. I looked up Xalatan, which is towards the bottom of the list, and needed to scroll back and forth to remember the column headings. Don't know how to do it, but there's a way to make the column headings float down the list, too, for those of us who tend to forget...
Thanks again for this project. You will help a lot of folks.

John in Ajijic: you cut & paste it in your BROWSER ... nothing to do with GOOGLE

jon couch: since expatriate and expatriot mean TOTALLY different things, I think your site would be more professional (credible) if you used the correct word. Nice site though.

FYI:

Kenneth G. Wilson (1923–). The Columbia Guide to Standard American English. 1993.

expatriate (adj., n., v.), expatriot (n.)

Expatriate (pronounced either eks-PAI-tree-AIT or eks-PAI-tree-uht) is the Standard spelling of the noun meaning “someone either excluded from or self-exiled from the native land,” and the adjective is spelled and pronounced the same way. The verb expatriate is pronounced only eks-PAI-tree-AIT and means “to be exiled or to withdraw from one’s own country,” “to leave it permanently.” Expatriot is either a misspelling (on analogy with patriot, no doubt) or a nonce word meaning “former patriot,” which might better be spelled ex-patriot; presumably it would refer to one’s loyalties but not one’s location.

This will work as a direct click.

Cool site! You've put lots of work and effort into this and I appreciate it.
FYI, nearly every pharmacy in Mexico has a HUGE book of meds and their equivalent in Mexico.
Question...Dalacin C...we bought it at a Mexican pharmacy and it was still called and packaged as Dalacin C...?????

Or it could simply be a way for a website to stand out in a crowd. The misspelling of something is sometimes a good thing when done on purpose, quite common and is done everyday in websites. In this case, I would say that it works to the favor of the site as there are loads of people that probably misspell in their search for either word.

While I do not like a site that has common words misspelled, common words are not taken into account when a search is made for certain sites. I would recommend that the author of the site put some meta tags into the header though giving a site description and keywords, including the misspelling.

1- I am not talking about a 'misspelling' I am talking about using the wrong word. If the 'wrong word' is used in the 'name of the website', how can people using it trust that the 'name of a drug' on the website is correct? They can't; it's that simple. So, if you can't trust the accuracy of the words used, then what's the point of consulting a reference site?

2- I understand that many people don't know the difference, and a tag to re-direct potential users is a good idea. However, just because loads of people don't 'know' the difference between two words, doesn't make it acceptable to those who DO know; people who don't care about correct language use are usually the same people who are insulted when their communications are not understood, OR misunderstand what is written by those who do use correct language, because they don't read information correctly.

3- The OP asked for opinions, I gave one. Personally, I have a pharmacist in my family so if I needed info on a drug, I would ask her before consulting a website, especially one written by someone who uses the wrong word in the website address. It's unprofessional, that's all, and Pharmacy is a profession. There are enough honest mistakes already, why make them deliberately?

Anyway, I am done with this. Justifying/debating 'dumbing down' is soooooooo paw-say, dahlink! (sic) 015.gif

I was far from asking you to debate or justify, also just making an opinion. My opinion is as it was, the site works as it is.

When a wrong word is used in the name of any website, it is usually because of either personal preference or because the other name was taken. In any event as in all things, everybody has a preference. And in that respect, someone who doesn't trust a site, has no need to go to it. The site is well done, serves a purpose and if someone wants to use black instead of white, they are paying the bill and can do as they please even if it means that some will think unprofessional.

I’ve been reading this web site for over three years and the only contribution that “SallyAnne” has given to this web-site is her personal feelings about personal hate toward anyone who doesn’t agree with her personal opinion. Individuals (SallyAnne) with limited knowledge in vision are also limited in the ability of understanding of those with a wider knowledge of common usage of words in today’s world. She seems to fight those that are ready to move on?

Enjoy the sunsets!

Huh? Even Google translate couldn't do much with that.

Sorry kids, Sally-Ann is right. Using the wrong word in the URL is an unfortunate error and will very possibly result in confusion when someone searches for the site. This is coming from someone who has attended many professional usability seminars and read countless articles on the subject. Take your vitriol somewhere else. Her suggestion was a valid one.

That is so far off base I can't even begin to answer it. SallyAnne is one of the most respected opinions here. Nuff said!!

Actually SallyAnne is right and wrong. From a casual user of the internet she sees it very differently than the way a web designer sees it. I understand why the mis-spelling was used but I also value SallyAnne's opinion because she is part of the target audience and makes good points...ones that a web designer usually values very much.
