cologal
Friends flying from Europe have asked if we can meet them to receive their dog who was shipped from abroad. I do not know where animal cargo is at the air port or the procedure ...can anyone help? Do you drive to the cargo bay?

Yo1
I think the reason that you haven't received an answer is because the question doesn't make sense to us in Mexico. When an animal is shipped cargo on the same plane that the owner is on, the owner should ask the customs people where to go for their animal. Sometimes the animal will end up on the luggage return go-around. Other times the owner will be escorted elsewhere in the terminal to have the papers and animal examined. There really isn't a place where you can drive to meet them except at the passenger pickup area. If the dog is flying alone, I would call the specific airline office at the airport to ask them where to find a dog in cargo.
pattya119
2 years ago, we had a pet shipping company ship our cat from San antonio, TX (long story). She flew United Airlines. At the GDL airport, we first went to United Cargo, where they checked the papers I had from the shipping company. To avoid telling more of this very long story, after going to Customs and Sagarpa, we finally got our cat. I do suggest that you take your Passport with you. Good luck!
