sm1mex
Is the blue light on the magic jack device supposed to be on steadily where it plugs into electricity ? Mine is blinking and my phone is dead.
Canuck
I had the same problem with mine and it was a wonky power adapter. You can replace it with one of the small white usb power cubes sold at the electronics store on the plaza. About 35 pesos. Works great again. sm1mex
Thanks. We tried that with our iPad adapter per magic jack tech support, but no luck. Anyone else had problems with a blinking blue light and been able to fix it somehow.? I guess my question is, is the light supposed to be on steadily all the time and not blink? Canuck
The blue light is supposed to be steady. Have you tried plugging it directly into your computer? Just to see what happens with the light.
sm1mex
No, we were on our iPad majic jack via wi-fi ( it works) and tech support suggested all types of solutions, but he didn't suggest that. We'll give it a try and let you know later. Thanks.
snowyco
Our MJ plus has 4 lights. The blue light is constant. the single green light on the end (indicating ethernet connection) blinks about once every 3 seconds when the MJ is not in use. About 2 seconds after I hang up the phone, it blinks several times. Red and green lights next to the blue light flash on and off with a regular 1 sec beat . What kind of blinking are you getting? Is is a constant frequency, or is it intermittent? Plugging it in to you computer's USB port to test it works to test the MJ. If you have downloaded MJ software onto the computer, then plugging into the computer will show you whether the MJ is successfully connecting to the internet and downloading your Contact List. sm1mex
It blinks steady abut 2-3 times a second, very fast. I have no other lights visible anywhere on the MJ device.
canmex87
Our M.J. Plus only has three lights and is plugged into a USB port on our lap top. One blue light and one yellow light are on constantly. I've never seen the middle light on. snowyco says that he has four lights on his M.J. Plus so I wonder if there are different models available? ComputerGuy
Yes, there are at least four varieties, although you'd never know it from their website. The original, the MJ Plus, the MJ Plus Wifi, and this new GO thingie...http://www.magicjack.com/products.html
Oatsie
I had the flashing blue light problem 2 weeks ago. Went online with MJ Support and the first thing they said was that the power adapter - the part that plugs into the wall that you plug the MJPlus into) was faulty. They suggested using any other one that I had around. I tried the one that I use to plug my BlackBerry USB cord into when charging and the MJ Plus worked. They were right. Try it ! sm1mex
We have tried another adapter from our iPad and it still wouldn't work. Magic jack is sending us another one free but we will have to pay shipping and duty on it, but oh well, at least we will get another one. We have all types of power strips, voltage regulator things hooked up but perhaps a surge came through and blew it out. Thanks for all of the suggestions.
