Natasha
You might want to rethink this, since the water here is pretty loaded with mineral, and either type will "plug up" pretty quickly.......
mudgirl
Home Depot (at least in PV) sells both the spaghetti-type lines and fittings and black seeper (this is made from a material that just seeps water through the entire hose- it does not have holes where the water comes out). I have used the black seeper hose for years- it works great, and although a friend of mine foresaw the same potential problem that Natasha mentions above, I have not had that experience and my water is quite hard. The only problem is that small holes occasionally develop- I suspect either ants or birds are making holes in it to get to the water. When that happens, I just cut the hose where it is damaged and put it back together with hose connectors and clamps.
TioBob
Many (11) years ago I made a soaker tube out of pvc pipe and fittings. I drilled holes around it and have been using it since without any problems.
