snowyco
The official Mexican Govt. calendar for determining a car's official/legal Model Year begins on Nov.1 and ends on Oct. 31 of the following year. Cars must be 6 years old or older to qualify for personal imports at the Mexico-USA border at low duty/tax rates - which includes 2008 Model year and earlier right now. Cars manufactured between Nov. 1, 2008 - Oct. 31, 2009 are considered to be official 2009 Model Year vehicles by the Aduana vehicle import rules. This means that NAFTA cars manufactured before Nov 1, 2009 will qualify after Oct. 31, 2014, for personal import at the Mexico-US border as "2009" models. NAFTA cars manufactured between Nov. 1, 2009 - Oct. 31, 2010 will not be eligible for personal imports until Nov. 1, 2015.

snowyco
My best memory of reading La Ley Aduanero was that they used the word vehiculo . I don't know much about Aduana/SAT regulations on motorcycles, but the SAT website lists the following: "7. This may not help much, because they basically direct us to contact a licensed customs broker ...
