Cookie
I always wondered what a black cow was. In Goldendale Washington in 1964, when I was a carhop at A&W, they just called them a root beer float. Still my hubby's favorite.
congodog
In Missouri, where I grew up, black cows were cola with ice cream. Root beer floats were called just that. I LOVE them. I wished I'd known about that special!

ComputerGuy
A float is just sodey-pop with ice cream in it, so any favorite flavour should be easy enough. Rick once made me up a couple of orangesicle-flavoured floats: orange pop and vanilla ice cream. Killer.
