MtnMama
Saturday, 22 November is Doggy Adoption Day and have we got some special dogs for you. Everyone has been groomed and is ready to go home with you NOW. Adoption Day is held at the PetCare store from 10:30 am until 2:00 pm. PetCare is located on the Carretera in Riberas. It is located between Cafe Magana and Pepe Magana, the Vet. You will see a canopy and signs and dogs being walked when you get there. Stop by and say "Hi" even if you aren't looking for a new best friend. PetCare has items you won't find anywhere else at Lakeside. We also have some homemade yummies for sale so come on by. Here are this weeks stars! We have chosen very small to very large dogs in a variety of ages and colors. Dinga, or Dingbat as the volunteers affectionately call her, looks like a Basenji without the curling tail and the yodel. She has a short, reddish, low-maintenance coat with white chest and toes. She is lively, high energy, loving and guessed to be 5 or 6 years old. Dinga would be thrilled to share long walks as well as quiet evenings at home. Paloma is a slim, high energy girl who we think is 2 or 3 years old. She has a short, white, low-maintenance coat and is medium in size. Think purebred MSD (Mexican Street Dog) white variety with a touch of cream color spots on her ears and tail. Paloma is energetic, sweet and loves attention. She definitely needs to learn some good manners, like no jumping and walking on a leash, but she should be quick to learn as she's young and is very willing to please. Pierre is so new he doesn't yet have a photo. He is a small white Miniature Poodle mix who was recently rescued after being abandoned in Las Briasas subdivision. He has been groomed, neutered and is current on shots. Pierre is affectionate and gets along with other dogs, and is more than ready to go to a forever home. Tigre is a 3 year old brindle Great Dane mix who recently arrived at the Ranch after he ate a very annoying chicken. Not his fault he assures us. Tigre is a truly striking dog with deep orange fur marked by black stripes. Plus he is mellow and sweet. Climbed on my lap and gave me a kiss even after I'd cleaned his ears and groomed him. Great Danes are too sweet to be good guard dogs, but because of their size, they make great watch dogs. Now you can have your casa guarded by a tiger! All the Ranch dogs are neutered, current on their 6 way shots and rabies. There is no charge for adoptions, but donations are gratefully accepted. gringal
I just read the beautifully written "letter to the editor" in the Guad. Reporter concerning temporary pet adoptions. If that doesn't get the point across, it's hopeless. It was excellent. Congratulations to the writer.
