Saturday 4 October is Doggy Adoption Day and have we got some special dogs for you. Everyone is combed, bathed, and ready to go home with you NOW. Adoption Day is held at the PetCare store from 10:30 am until 2:00 pm.

PetCare is located on the Carretera in Riberas. It is located between Cafe Magana and Pepe Magana, the Vet. You will see a canopy and signs and dogs being walked when you get there. Stop by and say "Hi" even if you aren't looking for a new best friend. PetCare has items you won't find anywhere else at Lakeside. We also have some homemade yummies for sale so come on by.

Our first two dogs were once much loved and pampered pets. Shelter life is hard for them to understand. They are now being cared for at the Ranch, but will make a new family a special companion.

Chula is a small to medium sized female who was rescued after being hit by a car on the libramiento. She has a slight limp but is otherwise as good as new. We believe she was someone's much loved pet as she had been spayed and is wonderfully loving. She is a perfect size for a cuddly lap dog on those cool winter evenings. Chula has a thick, medium coat in deep russet and we think she is 4 or 5 years old.

Negra is a medium/large black Chow mix who looks fierce but behaves like a big marshmallow – OK a very black marshmallow but you get the picture. We think she is 4 or 5 years old. Negra and her buddy Kucho were the much loved pets of a young lady who fell on hard times. She has not been able to find a job that would enable her to keep the dogs so Negra needs a new forever home. She has a think plush coat and a gentle, sweet disposition.

Paloma is a slim, high energy girl who we think is 2 or 3 years old. She has a short, white, low-maintenance coat and is medium in size. Think purebred MSD (Mexican Street Dog) white variety with a touch of cream color on her ears. Paloma is lively, friendly and would love to take you on walks.

Tina, formerly known as Nieve, is a white Miniature Poodle mix, about 3 years old. Her foster mom says while Nieve sounded good to the rest of us, little Miss Poodle much prefers to be called Tina. She was found dirty and cowering in the bushes near The Ranch. Tina has been groomed, and living in foster care. She is now a lively, joyous little fur bundle ready for a forever home. And she gets along with other dogs and cats and is house broken!

Willie is a medium sized Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier mix. He has a thick wavy strawberry-blond coat that requires some grooming. We think he is 3 or 4 years old. Willie is lively and affectionate but is after all a spunky terrier so says he could be a watch dog if needed.

All the Ranch dogs are neutered, current on their 6 way shots and rabies. There is no charge for adoptions, but donations are gratefully accepted. For photos and pictures of our other dogs please see our Website:
