mexbound
I am going to renew my passport at LCS at the next consulate visit to LCS in May 2015. I went to the US Consulate Guadalajara Website to see what date in May they will be here. The dates posted for 2015 on the website are: The new visit dates for the year 2015 will be: January 14 / February 11 / March 11 / April 08 / May 04 / June 10 / July 08 / August 05 / September 02 / October 14 / November 09 / December 09. So the site shows May 4th which is the first Monday of the month. All the other dates shown are the second Wednesday of each month. Does anyone happen to know or have heard if May 4th is the correct date or would it be the second Wednesday of the month May 13th?

mexbound
Thank You Ellie for the verification of May 4th date. So I will show up around 10:00am and get on the sign up list. Is there a person there to do my 2 required photos? Also I will bring a form DS-82 filled out and my old passport. I will also bring a cashiers check from CI Banco. Do I need to bring copies of any items? or anything else?

Ellie
Passport and Notary services. Maybe others for Social Security enrollment, etc.pPrimarily passport and notary. A Social Security rep has not been available for quite a few years; however there is a direct toll free line in Mexico for SS help and information in Guadalajara. Will post the number tomorrow. lcscats
They can make you a passport CARD also. While this is for ground transport only it is a good id to have and leave your passport at home locked up when away from home in Mexico. Much easier to carry than passport also. While this is for ground transport only it is a good id to have and leave your passport at home locked up when away from home in Mexico. Much easier to carry than passport also. The passport card is an additional US$ 30. If issued when renewing your passport you do not need additional photos as the government photocopies the ones used for your passport. I've had my card for several years and it's also a good photo I.D. to carry In the U.S. or wherever.
mexbound
So do I just add $30 usd to the CI Banco check? So the amount of the CI Banco check would be $140usd. $110 for passport and +$30usd for the card.

Yes, If you do a lot of traveling, when you apply for a renewal you can also ask for a 52 page passport at no cost. Otherwise there is a fee to add additional pages.
