Wookie Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 We had our 3rd pizza delivered this evening and I just want to say that it was great!! For some reason the last time we ordered both pizzas came without sauce (: When I called to order this time I told them that for some reason we did not get that great sauce that everyone is talking about and we both got a laugh. In addition, when the pizza was delivered it came with a piece of pie (to say sorry for no sauce) for dessert which we didn't even know was available. We will order dessert from now on also!! Great Pizza!
border crosser Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 I went to Junky Monkey yesterday afternoon for a to go order. I was hungry for wings but my wife wanted pizza. So, I ordered a small pizza for her and an order of wings for me. The pizza was great in every respect. My wife likes thick crust but I ordered a medium crust and it was perfect. The small pizza would have actually been enough for two. The wings were good and meaty and 1lb. turns out to be 9 or 10 wings. The only problem with them was that I ordered "hot" and damn were they hot! My fault, next time I will ask for mild. The entire experience with JM was very positive and we will certainly go back.
Wookie Posted September 9, 2012 Report Posted September 9, 2012 I just have to rave about Junky Munky again!! We just had the wings and the salad with chicken and both were sooooooo excellent!! Thank you so much for such good quality fast food .... delivered!!! I must admit that I was a little skeptical about ordering the salad but am so very glad I did .... it was excellent ... good quality romaine lettuce (not iceberg which I can not eat), feta cheese, craisins, a few slices of bananas which at first I thought a little bazaar ... but it was really good and the chicken was big chunks of white meat, cooked just right and served hot and fresh. The chicken wings came with a nest of carrot sticks on one side and celery sticks on the other. The wings were fresh and hot and the carrots and celery were crisp and cold. When you opened the two containers the food was presented in a most appetizing manner .... fantastic!
catinmex Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 We went there again last night...just had a hankering for wings and pizza. The owner met us when we got out of the car and told us that he had run out of tomato sauce for the pizza, but could do a pesto based one up for us. So, we said that we'd give it a try. The honey garlic wings were absolutely delicious....very garlicky, just the way we like them. And the pizza was amazing. It was the house special; we were skeptical about the bananas and pineapple, but so glad we tried it. We had a delicious meal and had some to take home for lunch today. Highly recommend this place. The owners and staff are so accommodating!
moonhill Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 Had our second meal there today. It was very, very good the first time, even better today. All of the ingredients on our pizza were fresh, the flavors blended perfectly, and the crust was thin and crisp like we like it. We customized our order; they are very willing to make it just how you want it. Coldest beer around and friendly service. If they keep doing what they're doing they should be alright. We can't wait to take our snowbird friends there when they start returning.
bookwoman Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 Had the Mediterreanean. Yum! yum! Will certainly go back.
hkrause Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Not only was the pizza excellent, but I was thrilled to find that they offer green olives as one of their ingredients. At one time NOB I found a place that offered this and fell in love, then the place closed and I've been craving it ever since. Who knew I'd finally locate another source all the way down here? Thanks, Monkey!
Jeanneb2000 Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 It 's in the location previously occupied by Jose's Illusion Greek Restaurant on the north side of the Carretera prior to reaching Fracc. Villa Nova Is there a physical address? Don't know where the stated loctions were/are. Thanks.
Mad_Max Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Is there a physical address? Don't know where the stated loctions were/are. Thanks. Carretera Pte. #123
cedros Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Is there a physical address? Don't know where the stated loctions were/are. Thanks. The actual address often isn't very helpful as the numbers often jump all over the place. As you go west out of Ajijic, after you go through the last street light you go up to the crest of the hill. As you continue down over the crest there are businesses on both sides of the road. Near the bottom the businesses on the right end and housing starts. Junky Munkey is the second to last business.
otbdiane Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 I've had several pizza's from here and they are great. My favorite, pepperoni, sausage and black olives. Yum...think I'll be over there on Sunday. Finally getting some great places in West Ajijic.

catinmex Posted October 1, 2012 Report Posted October 1, 2012 Hubby and I went there again last night and had fabulous pizza, decent glass of red wine and really friendly service. I'm impressed with their consistency, something that seems to be a bit of a challenge here at Lakeside.
el bartman Posted October 1, 2012 Report Posted October 1, 2012 Have eaten there a few times and have had it delivered. I have found the opposite to Catinmex in a decided lack of consistency. Sometimes no sauce, other times the sauce to thick it turns the crust to mush. Too often I've found the crust burned something I've found as well with Valencia Pizza. It just seems to me the owners are trying too hard to please everyone and should simply allow the chef's talent to shine in a consistent product. When these two restaurants hit the mark they both make an excellent product.
Mad_Max Posted October 1, 2012 Report Posted October 1, 2012 I had the goat cheese special pizza today - and thought it was very good
