This is from youtube. I don't like to make fun of people trying to speak or learn a foreign language but since it's pena nieto I will make an exception:) It's the subs that make it funny.

There's another one there thats really funny, but it's "muy grosero" so I won't post it.

Well, in his defence, you should hear many of us mangling Spanish.

I saw the student demonstration in Mexico City yesterday - lots of people, very peaceful. I loved one sign showing a pair of rats, one with head of Salinas de Gortari and the other with the head of Peña Nieto and the words "abuelo" and "nieto".

I have plenty to hold against him, his english I do not. Just a lighthearted clip.

Here is a clip of a rally for Eruviel, that was elected governor of mexico state last July. Pri like pena nieto. Pri buys their votes, they are painting houses here for free for votes now in pri colors. These are "campesinos" that they took to a rally for Eruviel. I'm sorry it's in spanish, but these are like many of the poor in mexico state (the most populated state). Cannot read or write. They have no idea why they are there or who eruviel is, one woman said he is her neighbor. They were promised things and food, if you see into the clip they are just about fighting over a bag of cookies and some soda that was finally passed out. It's typical politics for the state of mexico, it involves the using of the poor and uneducated.

OH, this one's not funny.

Better get used to the PRI. They are way ahead in the polls. This election has turned into a referendum on the PAN's "war on drugs" and it looks like the folks are going to vote "no."

Given how hard it is for me to speak and hear Spanish after several years of working at it, I'm sure not going to knock someone for having a similar problem with English, which I am told is one of the most difficult languages to learn because it requires so much memorization.

I laughed out loud at the clip! The subtitles were hilarious and I feel his pain struggling to learn a new language at our age.

Believe me I am used to pri mainecoons, they have owned mexico state for a long time.

The narcos can buy pri and they will.

In following Mexico City newspapers they say the polls are heavily manipulated.

If one researches Nieto one may not find too many positives including the questioning of his first wife's death at an early age; the son he fathered to another woman while married, his support of the narcos, etc. Hence, the protests in Mexico City and Carmen Aristegui a well known television news reporter is fearing for her life. She is the same reporter who has done some critical reporting on SMA's mayor.

Actually he had 2 kids with TWO different woman while married, one died at the age of 1. the other is 7 or 8 YO.

And, yes, I agree the gut has to start learning some english or at least how to read!!!!! It is a shame to hear that....

I agree with Ajijic, on economic therms the guy will be a complete disaster as the PRI has always been...

On Sunday there was a very large protest against Peña Nieto in Mexico city conducted by students. While EPN was hidding in the on state were PRI´s govermets have been successful... Colima. Fine, but unfortunatly students (and society) are not suggesting anything!!! They are just complaining about what we all know, Peña Nieto is a puppet, from Televisa, TV Azteca, "La maestra", The PRI. etc..... I think is too bad that if so many people are protesting and unhappy with what was obvius. They (we), didn´t come up BEFORE with a good leader, so as a result we will be having the corrupt and ignorant goverment that we deserve (how sad...).

BTW Toltepecano, I think things are the other way the PRI is been paid off by Televisa...

Yes, she is the founder of the PANAL, but as we all know there is not a chance that Quadri can win the election, he is just there so the party won´t loose its registry . (and keeps having senators and "diputados"). La maestra is all over, she is really powerfull... and Peña Nieto knows (or I hope he knows), that he has to have a great relationship with her, otherwise he can loose lots of votes.. Elba Esther is not goin to make his sindicate vote for he own loosing power on the federal elections, they are voting for EPN. She is really smart..

I didn't say that I think the PRI is "the answer." What I said was that this election is shaping up as a referendum on the "war on drugs" and that isn't looking too good for the PAN. I can't vote and we are not supposed to involve ourselves in Mexican politics, hence I will restrict my comment to that observation, which is hardly a unique observation concerning this election.

It could be ML. Pri is very greedy. You see in the video above of the campesinos having to just about fight over cookies and soda after being promised stuff by pri. They are greedy and have no conscience.

I do know that it is bought and paid for.

It's the media that makes it look like a referendum on drugs, they are in the bag for pri.

I can not help thinking that the audio on the video, with Peña N, speaking English, might have been fiddled with..... surely, his English couldn´t be that bad.

The other videos were very interesting and one positive note..... I saw (and on other You Tube videos, and on last week´s meeting here) how Mexicans stand up for what they believe and are not afraid to speak out or shout their opinions, and as long that is possible, there is hope. .... LIke this one, where a mother of a killed teenager, is telling Calderon that he is not welcome. I hardly ever saw somehting like that in any other country, where a citizen can speak like that to the president and is given all this time to speak. Extra points for Mexico. I am all for it.

Wowww!!! Is the first time I see that video.. pretty sad and shocking. I´ll likke to share an other very popalar video similar to that one. You can see Mr. Alejandro Marti whose son was kidnapped and killed speaking to the whole goverment and the president, By heart (and for sure from the bottom of his heart) telling them luod and clear that if they can not do anything they should QUIT...

Respect..... he is speaking these great words, without reading, straight from the heart.... And my heart is with him.

His english is like that, I've seen the original without subtitles. I won't hammer him for that though, he is trying.
