tonypassarello Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 The Tuesday Market formerly held at the Centro Laguna Mall is relocated to the Salon de Eventos Las Huertas beginning on Tuesday, May 15. Find a map and locator photo for the new location here: http://barbaramilagros.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/new-tuesday-market-location-map.pdf
MtnMama Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 If they can find someone to sell it. It tends to be a bit labor intensive. For the first few weeks, it will mostly be the vendors getting a feel for the new location. Come by for the freshest vegetables Lakeside. And healthy delicious breads, and baked goods, and chocolate and cheese, and pre-made meals and...
ericurmudgeon Posted May 12, 2012 Report Posted May 12, 2012 Too bad for me. Probably will not make the trip through town from San Antonio. :-( The folks on the west side are really lucky.
MtnMama Posted May 12, 2012 Report Posted May 12, 2012 Any idea why they're moving again? The shopping center has rented the space and construction will start soon in that space.
Canamex Posted May 12, 2012 Report Posted May 12, 2012 The owner of La Huerta Eventos is going to sell coffee.
MtnMama Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 It is a longer drive for me too, but the food is worth the drive. IMHO
hensley Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 I heard it was very crowded today and they had to wait for parking, did anyone go?
PULELEHUA Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 Drove by the new location about 10:20, with every intention of stopping in until we came close to being creamed out by someone trying to back out of what appeared to be the only about to be vacated parking space. Reminiscent of the Hole-In-One parking and traffic situation. Hope there is some way for them to get the traffic/parking under control.
Canamex Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 Actually there is tons of parking along the side with a two-way entrance/exit fully marked and with a separator - that's where customers are supposed to park. It's too bad you had a problem, glad there was no accident. I hope they get a person to direct traffic. Do try again, it's really not like the Hole in One parking, just one jerk trying to make it the same by parking in the wrong place.
Ellie Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 It's now on my side of town - also drove by about 10:15. The parking lot appeared to be full - and the rest of it was a zoo. I didn't stop.
maggilu Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 I thought it was great. Parking on the side and interesting selection inside.
MtnMama Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 I parked about a block away and walked. Wonderful setting, most of the regular vendor are back. Lots of walking around room, but the place was nicely crowded.
gringal Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 Got there at just ten. Already the parking lot was completely full: Outside same: had to park over a block away.....but that's life. My great disappointment is that Antonio (?) the bread man who makes the great cinnamon rolls and other goodies wasn't to be found. You know...........the man who has a long line waiting to buy his goods. Does anyone know where he sells the rest of the time? I NEED those rolls.
bournemouth Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 I think he sells on the plaza in Chapala on Thursdays.
Travis Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 I think you're probably referring to Armando. I've been chasing his bread from venue to venue to venue for over a year. Didn't go to the Famer's Market this week because we were out of town. La Huerta is a little inconvenient based on where we live.....especially if Armando isn't going to be there with those cinammon rolls, and that amazing multi-grano, and that foccacia, and... Of course, there are those tomatoes, and the greens, and....see you all next week!
Canamex Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 Armando is expected to return to the market, but most people don't give notice if they're not going to be there. Hard to believe that huge parking lot was full - they need a parking attendant.
punxsyjim Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 Why?? Will s/he stack cars on top of one another?? The (side) parking lot is clearly marked - it just lacks drivers who can follow signs and stripes in the pavement! As a veteran of that lovely Tuesday event, I was puzzled at the number of vehicles.... and a lot of new faces; just exploring I guess. As there was a great deal of custom at its predecessors, we hope for the survival and prosperity of this venue and the wonderful merchants who satisfy us so well.
Canamex Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 I know the parking lot is clearly marked, but for those who apparently can't see the stripes and the divider, maybe an attendant would help them along until they get used to it and vow to return!
gringal Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 If you are referring to the parking lot next to the building with a downhill driveway.............IT WAS FULL at 10 am. I'm guessing the vendors. Maybe that parking lot at the Laguna Mall was a lot bigger than we realized. Anyway, just be prepared to walk a ways. Yes, it's Armando we missed. Hope he and his delicious breads are there next Tuesday. Hope, Hope, Hope.
