Mad_Max Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 For those that have crossed this year by car, with dogs, has anyone had to show their health certificate? Question is for Laredo crossing..........
KathyTX Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 We crossed with cats and I had to show their health certificates. There were no problems. They looked at the certificates and peeped at the cats and we were done. You have to get the certificates done within 10 days of crossing, but I don't know that they even looked at the dates on the paper. Of course, CYA is the best thing to do, you never know who you might get.
jrod Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 Brought two dogs down, crossing at Bridge 2 (Lincoln-Juarez) last Saturday early morning. I had my certificate in my hand, but they just asked me to hold the big dog by his leash, took a quick peek in the back and passed us through.
red river valley Posted June 8, 2013 Report Posted June 8, 2013 In the 10 years I've been driving down with my dogs, never once have they asked to see health certificates. Have a safe trip.
Jim Bowie Posted June 8, 2013 Report Posted June 8, 2013 Been crossing Laredo every 6 months with my 2 cats, for 4 years, and never been asked.
RZTraveler Posted June 8, 2013 Report Posted June 8, 2013 Never used to have a problem crossing into the US with the dogs, or Mexico for that matter. The past 2 years I was asked to show proof of their shots to Customs in the US and Mexico. I go to Pepe in Riberas and after giving them their shots, he sticks the labels from the bottles into my health booklets I use for the dogs. This shows the past history of all their shots. I go every year as some US places require shots every year instead of every two years. Ron
