Lenny Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 Whats a good Mexican car insurance company? This one baffles me? I have had Lewis & Lewis but someone pointed out that it covers your USA car in Mexico but isn't Mexican insurance? Is that true? I might have to change companys? Thanks
johanson Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 Did that same person tell you that your car is not insured when in Mexico? I rather doubt it. Now if you had a Mexican plated car, it would be another matter.
Bourbonman Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 I have my insurance thru Lewis & lewis on my USA plated vehicle. The Policy is Qualitas. Only a Mexican company is viable in Mexico.
lcscats Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 Lewis and Lewis are a broker in L.A. area that sells Mexican Insurance for U.S. Plated cars. It uses Qualitas Insurance. It does not sell policies for Mexican plated vehicles. You can buy Qualitas insurance from them directly at there office in Chapala for Mexican plated vehicles. We used Lewis and Lewis when we had US plated vehicle and they were very good and had policy printed out in English and Spanish. They made it easy and understandable. You know what you are getting with them.
Ezzie Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 The other advantage of using Qualitas is that if you are ever involved in an accident they have a large number of adjusters that can be dispatched quickly to the accident scene. Their repair center is also fairly close by on the south side of Guadalajara so repairs can be done quickly without a lot of hassle.

El Saltos Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 See a local agent such as Parker for you needs. Also Edgar Cedeno at LCS. There are several good Mexican companies, get a Mexican agent they'll show them to you.
FHBOY Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 Had Qualitas on my USA plated car. Had a broken windshield. Claim was handled great. Adjuster came out within an hour. I paid about $90 USD OOP for a $1500 USD [?] windshield [Volvo]. Bought thru MR Rachel's Insurance in Chapala - very helpful. Now have Qualitas on my Mexican plated Volvo - good rates, Sergio has good service.
Sandrita Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 I obtained insurance through Qualitas on my new Mexican plated car at Bellon Ins. almost across the street from Superlake. Contact Claude Bellon: 766-5151.
