In Ajijic: My friend Pat brought me this teeny weeny, PRACTICALLY DEAD creature last Tuesday. Attached is the before picture (which was taken 3 days after I got her and she was finally strong enough to sit up), and the after picture is from yesterday. She was truly on death's door and had been stuck in some ivy. She'd probably been there for 3 or 4 days in the boiling heat, starving and suffering beyond belief. Yet she survived. I've been nursing her back to the living & Dr. Ladrone gave her the thumbs up yesterday. She's now following me everywhere, chatting to me, and is deeply affectionate and loves being held and hugged. She's also very loyal, very mellow -- where I go, there goeth she. She is now strong and ready to be your most beloved companion EVER. If not you, them PLEASE forward this information to someone (responsible) you know who would give her a loving home. PLEASE CONSIDER HER OR FORWARD THIS TO SOMEONE YOU KNOW & TRUST. She's been through so much... I already have too many animals, as well as pay all the food and vet bills for 5 other animals belonging to other people, and so I am just fostering her until I can find her the perfect home.

I named her Ivy -- after her nemesis -- to empower her -- and she is strong she is beautiful she is womaaaan. Okay, no she's just a little girly kitty who's spirit is transcendentally strong. She will heal your wounded soul. She's already healed mine, and mine was a'hurtin'. She already comes running to me when I call. ALSO, she's totally cool with my other cats AND my dog. She has that kind of personality that gets along with everybody. Please PM me or post directly or whatever. I'm in Ajijic.

Thanks Ginger! I know you from other times I've tried to find homes for animals (and from just plain old other times). You're always so compassionate. Blessings to you :)

Update on Transcendent Ivy: I'm attaching a picture from today of IVY relaxing on the back of my sofabed, my dog (the white one) napping in front of her with one eye open, and my neighbor's dog Chico in the foreground whom I am taking care of for 10 days. He immediately got along with her. I just wanted to show you how wonderfully and quickly she is socializing -- not just with people, but my cats, my dog, and now my neighbor's dog! She's an amazing spirit and companion -- strong inside and out. Also, she is a deep thinker -- and very eclectic. I caught her earlier today reading "The Brothers Karamazov". Later, she lightened up and was reading a Mad comic. She truly has a wide variety of interests. ADOPT HER. You will be entertained, loved, enlightened, and most likely, go to Heaven. If it exists.

The kitty is trully special, Poe, a real survivor. From your words, you established with her one of those unique relationships that were meant to be. I'm a rescuer and I've learned from my mistakes extremely painful lessons. When there is a special connection between rescuer and rescued, the bond should not be broken. I once did, thinking this huge dog I had rescued would find a better home than my little house, etc. I took her to Anita in hope good well off Americans would make her happy. ¡No! She was happy with me. I was her happiness... She died of sadness in a few days at the shelter....

I shall carry my suffering for time without end... Please, keep Ivy. She's yours and no one else's.

That is such a heartbreaking story, Ananda. I'm so sorry that things ended up in such a sorrowful way, and that you carry around that weight. You are a deeply good person.

I would take her in a heartbeat but have an Alpha cat already terrorizing one of her sisters, and know it cannot be.

Surely SOMEBODY out there will give this little doll-baby a chance? There's nothing like the love of a great cat!

Hi Xena!

Lots of wonderfully compassionate people, but no takers yet. She is feeling a little off since last night, a bit of a fever so I put a cool washcloth on her belly to get it down, and then she slept fine. Her poop was a little messy this morning, which is probably attributable to my slowly introducing a little kitten kibble (softened with a bit of water) into her A/D food. She really loves to play now (favorite toy: wadded up post-it). Since she still seems to be getting through this health crisis, I'll hang on to her until there's no more issues with these little fevers and such -- I think she just needs a few more days. I want to make sure that she's 100% so whomever takes her doesn't have to worry :) Thank you so much for checking in -- you are super sweet! I will keep you posted.

Thank you, Poe. I am having a discussion with my two cats and dog about whether there is room for one more. They are not at all sure.

Awww... I understand your reticense. I don't want you (or your animals) to feel that way, Xena. Ok everybody, I feel like things have played out and the decision has been made for me. I'm going to keep Ivy. Having to nurse her so much, the more time that goes by the more painful I think it would be for me to give her up (and maybe painful for her). I think this is just going to be one of those times where the choice has been made for me by the universe.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR INCREDIBLE KINDESS AND COMPASSION. It's very gratifying to know that people like all of you are part of the population here at Lakeside. God bless and peace out to each and every one of you.

What wonderful news for you and Ivy! Do you need any help with her care? I would be happy to contribute something towards her medical needs or food. Just let us know.

And, maybe you could post an update with photo of her every now and then?

Best to all of you always and many blessings on your home.
