Anybody know where I can find Astroturf, plastic palm trees and pink flamingoes locally? I know I can get these things in Tonala...don't want to go to Tonala. Tonala is the only place for sure.
alex45920 Posted May 9, 2013 Author Report Posted May 9, 2013 Yeah...I'm sure. Already have the cheap lawn furniture, umbrella and water sprinkler.
cbviajero Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Astroturf and plastic palm trees don't require a lot of watering so your sprinkler probably won't be necessary.
alex45920 Posted May 9, 2013 Author Report Posted May 9, 2013 Some people just have no appreciation for art.
satnrose Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Go for it Alex. The pink flamingo was a pop culture icon in the 50's, hit the skids in the 60's, back in vogue in the 70's, 80's and 90's. Sometimes referred to as the queen of kitsch, still very cool. I love the idea, especially with the plastic furniture. You gotta send us a picture of this when it's done.
alex45920 Posted May 9, 2013 Author Report Posted May 9, 2013 But it ain't gonna happen if I have to go to Tonala.
Lexy Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 But it ain't gonna happen if I have to go to Tonala. Well, darn! Lexy

sparks Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Home Depot had 5 grades of astro-turf last I looked
Ginger Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Don't you also need a tractor tire filled with petunias & painted white? Or are you trying to be more subtle?
Ginger Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Well, it's better than an old bathtub filled with petunias.
Xcalaker Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 These are nice. Not everyone appreciates them though.
Ellie Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 And to make you all jealous, I have a 25" tall NEON pink flamingo (lights up). Got it as a gift in 1985 as a gift and it's moved from the U.S. to Saudi to Mexico.
Ellie Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Nobody likes show-offs, Ellie. Eat your heart out!!!! LOL It has been lent out for parties...

puro guero Posted May 10, 2013 Report Posted May 10, 2013 Galerias El Triunfo. Locations all over Mexico, including Guadalajara We take NOB guests there just for the "Can you believe this place ?" factor.
gogirl Posted May 10, 2013 Report Posted May 10, 2013 How about a BBQ grill turned into a planter? I've seen those. Might fit nicely into your decorating scheme. Ha
Ginger Posted May 10, 2013 Report Posted May 10, 2013 Old toilets can be decorative planters as well.
