JayBearII Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Anybody else have their service down? Msg on TV says receiver is trying to connect but can't. This sometimes happens when there are a lot of sunspots interfering with reception, but I do not know if that is the case now. Usually the problem is intermittent but my service outage is continuous since about 1 pm.
lakeside101 Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 having no problem. i don't have HD just regular
Joyfull Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 We had similar outage about a month ago. We tried everything and nothing worked. Finally a Canadian neighbor came over and turned everything off then unplugged the cable from the Shaw box, waited 5 minutes and we had it back. Worth a try if you haven't tried that yet. Next step: call Satellite Systems

Sound came back right away after doing that.
Jistme Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Jaybear...when we have a problem with Shaw in Canada, I send an email to Belva at; gchard@bmts.com Belva orders a re-hit, and our programs are reinstated. I'm assuming also that you've pulled out all of your cables from the electric outlets, turned everything off, and waited a few minutes. If you've tried all this, then contacting Belva at Shaw could be the answer.
ComputerGuy Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 BMTS is Bruce Telecom. They only serve a few communities in southern Ontario. Are they a carrier for Shaw? There is also a DIY self-hit option on the Shaw account pages. But unplugging for just a few minutes is the first step, for sure.
