hensley Posted April 12, 2013 Report Posted April 12, 2013 Apparently there's a little mini-epidemic going around, within the gringo community, so no kissing on the lips and drinking from other peoples glasses.
Rony Posted April 12, 2013 Report Posted April 12, 2013 After having taken a good look around in the gringo community,I do not think that there are too many people that I want to kiss on the lips anyway. Now,.... can I get it from kissing my dog and will I turn into a "mono" if I do ?? Rony

Rony No mono from dog but strep, worms oh lots of things, sorry could not resist Rony I am a dog lover and yeah I kiss them so just saying..heheh Some advise if mono going around wash hands a lot and do not share utensils, drinks etc...no kissing and if you feel sick for goodness sake stay home and keep your germs to yourself...there are a lot of compromised people here of all nationalities, so keep the germs home..

regc80 Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 I had mono last summer. I didn't even get it from kissing!!! A friend of mine came down for the summer to house sit and she was very tired and achey. We drank and ate after each other. A few weeks later I had mono. It really sucked. I got over it quickly by taking MMS, but it still took a good 3-4 months to get all my energy back.
ajijicrocks Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 If I can prove I am mono free, will someone PLEASE kiss me! I will require you to buy me a drink first though!!
satnrose Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 How many affected? Are they related? Is the Illness showing up in a localized area? Are local doctors showing concern?

hensley Posted April 13, 2013 Author Report Posted April 13, 2013 I know of 1 couple that both have it and another friends husband has it, they say she could be a carrier.
EX-PAT2011 Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 When I was in elementary school in the 50's, we were told you could get it from toilet seats. So, I have NEVER kissed a toilet seat!!
ajijicrocks Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 Due to lak of interest I am withdrawing my offer to be kissed.....
Humbleclectic Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mononucleosis here are the facts...
regc80 Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 Here are the symptoms I had when I had mono last summer:sore throat, extreme fatigue (could barely get up and go to bathroom), low grade fever, muscle and body aches, headache, pain in the spleen and liver area. I took MMS for a month and it helped tremendously and enabled me to recover very quickly.
johanson Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 I was at the Maskaras Clinic a few minutes ago on another matter. And I asked the doctor about the above subject. He said it was possible that there had been a mono breakout lakeside amongst the elderly community, but he hadn't heard anything about it.
doberwoman Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 I think Ronie meant - monkey ( mono). I agree! my mind twisted and I understood wow! "un mono suelto en los alrededores"
