Shelley Ronnfeldt Posted March 25, 2013 Report Posted March 25, 2013 The Open House at Lucky Dog was a rousing success yesterday. We think about 125 people stopped by. The donations were extremely generous, and will go a long ways toward caring for our dogs. One Lucky Dog was adopted, which is the best news of all. For all those who came, thank you so much. For all those who couldn't come yesterday, please come and see us soon. We are so proud of our new shelter! Oh, and we could REALLY use more volunteers!
JayBearII Posted March 25, 2013 Report Posted March 25, 2013 Would you remind us where the new shelter is (directions) and what the days and hours are? Best times to visit?
Shelley Ronnfeldt Posted March 25, 2013 Author Report Posted March 25, 2013 We are on the Chapala-Mezcala carretera, well before you get to Vista del Lago. If you follow the road past Cristiana Park toward Mezcala, we are on the right hand side about 2.5 kilometers outside Chapala. You will see a little store on your right that usually has dog food bags sitting out in front by the road. We are just past that. Our hours right now are 9:30 to 2 Monday through Friday, 10-3 on Saturday, and 1-4 on Sunday. We do not think we'll be able to sustain the Sunday hours much longer, though. My suggestion is to come as early in the day as possible, before it gets too hot. The dogs are mosting sleeping in their cool kennels during the heat of the day, being the sensible creatures they are!
sue Posted March 25, 2013 Report Posted March 25, 2013 The Open House was fun with good hot dogs and nice people . Most important great dogs / puppies healthy and happy.
Jeanneboo Posted March 25, 2013 Report Posted March 25, 2013 This is a lovely shelter with room for the dogs to be comfortable in their cages and a place to play. The people are lovely and very helpful. The dogs are great. Many were quiet and friendly. Wish I could have taken one but it isn't possible. Go see them. I really enjoyed the open house. Thanks for having it.
