Wookie Posted August 22, 2012 Report Posted August 22, 2012 There was a recommendation for a Colly Franscisco for taxi service on this forum. We were not impressed. We were expected to go all the way to Guadalajara without air conditioning. We had a 5:00 p.m. appointment with a doctor and then would be on our way to the hospital for surgery. The bath at the house was supposed to be the last one before surgery so no air conditioning was not a consideration. Also, the young man that came to pick us up sat in the car with no offer of help with the bags ... I had to tell him to please open the trunk so my husband could store the bags. We then asked for the a/c at which time were told there was none. We thanked him and got out!

It is run by Lorena Rule that used to work for Surgery Host. She has a new car, knows Guadalajara very well and speaks excellent English. I used her to take me to an appt last week and am using her again tomorrow for two appts in Guad tomorrow. You will be very happy with her service. You can reach her at 763-5395 or 766-5644.
manny Posted August 23, 2012 Report Posted August 23, 2012 the person who started the thread was named colly. then there was a comment that said -"would somebody give colly franisco's miramontes phone #". it is the same franciso, as it is his phone # 766-1142, that was the # given to colly. there is NO "colly franciso" taxi service. the topic was about going out after dark, & is it safe to take a bus. read it!! now, as i said-francisos sons are not always professional. i have had trouble w/them & so have others, i know them for many many years. i only book directly w/franciso, call his cell, or get him @ home. the thread that said "not impressed" was correct, as they did not work w/franciso himself. his sons can be very good or more so very bad. i was refused help w/ a huge suitcase, also miquel dosnt show up he forgets, the other one has blasting music. but i always had airconditioning.

I think the OP is refering to someone completely different and should clarify here on the forum.

manny Posted August 24, 2012 Report Posted August 24, 2012 franciso knows all about the problems. knows if he is busy, not to send his sons. as they are up & down. re read the post about going out after dark. they reccommend franciso miramontes (&sons) w/HIS PHONE NUMBER! you yourelf can hire his sons all you want, i wont. theres another franciso but no one calls him, & hes not popular.
Wookie Posted August 25, 2012 Author Report Posted August 25, 2012 Sorry, have not been able to respond to this thread again because we just today got back from the hospital. The number I called for the recommended Colly Francisco was 766-1142. This is the second experience we had with this young man. We recognized him when he drove up ... I don't know who's son he is but he has been very surley both times. The first time we used them to go to Guadalajara was about 2 months ago when my husband had eye surgery. By the time we got to the hospital we were both a wet puddle. When we called Francisco for a ride back home we asked specifically for a/c. He sent another relative who was a very good driver and had a/c ... unfortunately we lost his direct number. We will never use Francisco again even though we have used them for the last 7 years going to and from the airport with no problems. We feel something has changed as his sons (or who we thought were his sons) never acted in this manner. Plus, they used to have comfortable transportation with a/c.
manny Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 luke, every business changes. franciso has 3 sons, pablo luis & miquel. he also has someone else he sends as well as i recall. they know in my case not even to talk to me. if francisoco is not there, i call his cell. if he is busy, he knows i wont use his sons, call someone else. there is NO "COLLY" franciso.
losgatos Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 I too have used " THE " Francisco for hospital runs and he is wonderful. His sons for airport runs, not so much. I have also had the experience of them not even getting out of the car to help with the bags and a semi surly attitude. I won't be using them again.

In all cases, we have had excellent service. On our last trip to the airport, we used Samuel Reyes who is in Ajijic. Speaks perfect English, shows up on time and is an excellent driver. His contact numbers are as follows: (376) 766-3662 or cell numbers 33 3482 0167 or 33 1289 5209. If he is busy, his son-in-law also drives. You might want to give Samuel a try. We will certainly use his services again. And he helps with the luggage!
manny Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 sam was my driver for years &was the best. then some things happend, prefer not to say. lets hope now hes back to his old self. these same things happen w/others as well. i also recommend marcos. except if hes busy he sends juan, & juan comes like 1/2 the time. make sure you get the person you call.

Bill Phillips Posted October 5, 2013 Report Posted October 5, 2013 Last Spring we had one of Francisco Miramontes sons drive us to the airport hotel (Casa Grande) to stay overnight prior to an early departure the next day. When paying him, I inadvertently gave him a $100.00 Canadian banknote along with some 100 peso notes. About 15 minutes later, I received a call from the front desk asking me to come to the lobby. The son (can't remember which one) was there and gave me back my $100 bill that he discovered when getting gas just down the road. Needless to say, I exchanged the Canadian bill for a 100 peso note PLUS a sizeable tip. I'll never use any other service other than the Miramontes family.
