Are you looking for an alternative to Tony's meat market, or an alternative to Tony's restaurant?

Viva Mexico in San Juan Cosala has good chamarro but it is a special, so not always on the menu.

I've bought them (raw meat) at El Torito and have been very satisfied.

Cooked ones: El Serape's are indeed excellent. El Serape is on the south side of the carretera in Ajijic, just west of the intersection with Juarez.

From our experience over the years the best Chamorro (pork shank) that we've found has been at: 1.) El Torito; 2.)The very accommodating young butcher in San Juan Cosala (located just across the street and slightly east of Viva Mexico Restaurant) and 3.) The large butcher shop on the north side of the street immediately to the east of the central market in Jocotepec. As for restaurants offering Chamorro, El Sarape have the product but never in great, dependable or consistent supply.
