Favorite restraunt: Oficina in Chapala. Located on the main street one block down from bus station. Menu varies every week from: fried chicken, fried shrimp, filet mignon, bar-b- que rib, Mexican buffet. grilled pork chops, spagetti, etc. Best prices and food in town. No coupons or restrictions to dining out.

Try it once and you will become a regular.

These are most of the well known restaurants in Ajijic. It's far from incomplete. I don't count restaurants in Chapala that are infrequently discussed here.

You can make a poll of your own if you want to.

Although we know you personally don't like it, Gerard's in West Ajijic has a large and loyal expat clientele. This list reflects certain biases not mentioned above.

oregonduck - I can't remember every restaurant. Maybe he has a loyal small number of people who eat there, I wouldn't know, but I can tell you that most all restaurants in Ajijic are having trouble paying the bills. If snowbirds don't come this year a few will be going out of business.

I know it's not on your list because it's too far away for most Ajijic residents but I've read good reviews, eaten there many times and that is Los Cinco Potrillos in Ixtlahuacan.

funny that you don't mention the most popular restaurant in ajijic, the jardin on the plaza. pablo is often full when everybody else is empty. of course, his location is number one. where else can you sit right in the middle of everything? ideal for catching up with old friends and making new ones. oh, the food. breakfast is done nicely and they do have daily specials on the weekends. whether a filet mignon or chili rellenos, curry chicken salad or fatitas with salad jardin, they satisfy alot of people everyday. some friends eat 80% of their meals there....

Can't think of them all. I know no one who eats there.

Maybe he's like Panino is at lunchtime? Good prices???

You should have posted this earlier as I could have added it. Too late now.
