  1. Not just about time, about image quality. Read the post above yours. Our docs all divide their time between here and GDL.
  2. INTERESTING DEVELOPMENT HERE Terry Vidal has applied to the LCS Board to return as Executive Director. Note this is not an elected office, it is a paid position. The position is currently vacant as the previous ED resigned. Terry certainly brings a wealth of experiece to the job, it will be interesting to see what the LCS Board decides. Here is his letter of application, it has been publicly released.
  3. I wonder how many solar panels would be required for the usual level of usage to be able to solar charge these. CFE rates are pretty steep, I wonder if these would be economic if you had to rely on CFE power. Sure looks like it would be useful as a second car here. Still need the gasser to go to the beach and further. Maybe GoSolar could answer this?
  4. Well that's what you should try first, obviously. I also suggest the Beg, Barter Buy & Sell Chapala on Facebook. I thought Tepehua was for selling donated items to benefit the community center there.
  5. Mexico to Invest MX$69 Billion in Road Infrastructure By Adriana Alarcón | Journalist & Industry Analyst - Thu, 06/04/2026 - 09:00 Mexico will allocate MX$69.30 billion in 2026 to improve road infrastructure, including 18,000km of highway conservation works and 388 rural roads across 18 states. The program seeks to strengthen regional connectivity, create jobs, and support communities, even as public infrastructure spending continues to face budget execution challenges. Mexico’s federal government will allocate nearly MX$69.30 billion (US$3.99 billion) in 2026 to strengthen the country’s road infrastructure, including federal toll-free highways, toll roads, feeder roads, and rural roads, as part of a broader effort to improve connectivity and support regional development. The investment was announced during President Claudia Sheinbaum’s morning press conference, where Jesús Esteva, Minister of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation said the government’s 2026 strategy will prioritize road conservation, community-built infrastructure, and maintenance across key regions of the country. Of the total, MX$50 billion (US$2.88 billion) will be directed to the conservation and improvement of 18,000km of roads in 2026. Esteva said the works are expected to generate around 100,000 jobs, while supporting mobility, logistics, and access to basic services in communities that depend on road connectivity. The government has also reported progress under its Bachetón program, which focuses on pothole repair and road maintenance. According to SICT, authorities have addressed 37,295 potholes, equivalent to 119,344m² of repaired road surface. Bachetón was launched in 2024, when the federal government presented the program as a nationwide effort to repair potholes, level roads, and clean drainage systems across federal highways. Earlier SICT reports showed that the program had advanced through routine and periodic maintenance works, including interventions across tens of thousands of kilometers of federal roads. A central component of the 2026 plan is the construction of smaller roads in coordination with local communities. For 2026, the government will invest MX$5.99 billion (US$344.69 million) to build 388 rural roads across 888km in 18 states. The projects are expected to benefit 327,000 people. Sheinbaum said these projects are designed to generate local transformation by connecting communities that have historically faced limited access to road infrastructure. The model also seeks to involve residents directly in construction, creating local employment while improving access to schools, health services, markets, and regional economic activity. The rural roads program will include projects across several regions of the country, with Guerrero standing out as one of the main beneficiaries. The state is expected to receive 124 rural road projects, the highest number among participating states. SICT also outlined regional conservation efforts. In the northwest, the government is working on 3,170km with an investment of MX$8.66 billion (US$498.33 million) across Baja California, Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Durango, Sinaloa, Sonora, and Zacatecas. In the northeast, works cover 2,110km with MX$7.11 billion (US$409.14 million) in investment across Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, San Luis Potosi, and Zacatecas. In the center-west region, the government is investing MX$7.30 billion (US$420.07 million) to repave 2,444km of federal roads in Aguascalientes, Colima, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Michoacan, Nayarit, and Queretaro. In the central region, which includes the State of Mexico, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Michoacan, Morelos, Oaxaca, Puebla, and Tlaxcala, the plan involves MX$7.24 billion to intervene 1,998km. For the south-southeast, the government reported an investment of MX$10.87 billion (US$625.50 million) to repave 3,140km across Campeche, Chiapas, Oaxaca, Quintana Roo, Tabasco, Veracruz, and Yucatan. This region remains a key priority for the federal infrastructure agenda due to its role in connectivity, social development, and strategic logistics projects. The 2026 road program also comes amid weaker public infrastructure spending, as Mexico’s physical investment fell 18.4% annually between January and April 2026, while spending under the Infrastructure, Communications, and Transport branch dropped 37.9% in real terms.
  6. I drove my golf cart down 16 de Sept this morning on graffiti patrol and it was open all the way. But this is Sunday.
  7. Yes, that is what my surgeon said also. He actually showed me the difference between two scans of the same area. The Beñuelos scan was noticeably clearer and sharper.
  8. Around $200-250 USD if I recall correctly for a pretty detailed look at my lower back. Suggest you go to Beñuelos in GDL, better imaging and lower price.
  9. Had a fairly good sized tree succumb to the wet and wind and fall over two days ago. Emailed Chapala Tree Service, they responded immediately and came quickly to look at, emailed me in a couple hours with a very reasonable quote to completely remove and came out the same day, yesterday, and did a very good job including thorough cleanup. When Roberto came to collect this morning they had cut a section of the tree out that had two orchids on it without being asked. I just assumed the orchids wouldn't surve the process but they made sure they did. I just can't say enough good about Chapala Tree Service. Great atttitude, quality of work, reliability, fair and honest pricing, they have it all. Thumbs up for this great local company. 👍👍👍👍👍
  10. Yes, but that is where they will send everything and your brother will have to forward it. The Escapees mail service forwards everything to Laredo TX for us and then Sol y Luna brings it in. This is more than a little expensive, I try not to calculate what each piece of mail costs. Escapees only forwards first class, no junk mail. Sol y Luna forwards whatever shows up in Laredo. No packages. This used to be a bit of a problem but Amazon has gotten so good at shipping to us here in Mexico it is not an issue for us now.
  11. And what they are showing for today. Wow!
  12. One of the benefits Escapees RV club offers is a U.S. legal address. Not sure how they do it but it has worked for many years now. IRS and our banks do not question it. IRS is aware of our Mexican residence.
  13. We've already had a third of June's normal rainfall and it is only the third. And the pattern seems to me to indicate the rains have begun.
  14. Whatever...🤣 Feel free to declare whom you want as winner. I didn't really seriously pay attention to or organize this, this year. This looks to me like the rainy season has begun.
  15. There are videos on line of how to do it once you have the battery. Pretty easy really. Batteries available from Amazon Mexico. I found a video on how to replace but when I post the link this site bounces the post. Just Google "replace Kindle battery" and you'll find it easy.
