We live in Ajijic and would be driving ourselves there. Been looking on AirBnB, VRBO, Expedia, etc., but just wondered if perhaps there's any private cabins available, not listed on the big internet booking sites. Last year we stayed at a very inexpensive cabin that belonged to a friend of a friend(you get the idea). It was very rustic and out of the way in a beautiful setting. However, the nights were very cold, the cabin had very poor insulation. For some reason it was very dusty and not comfortable at all. The only time we enjoyed ourselves was when we were outside. I think we've found a nice AirBnB place for ~$2,000 MXN a night on what appears to be a private access community of cabins on the North side of Matzamitla. We'll see in two weeks...
