Shaw Direct problem

Anyone else having a problem - I'm in the village and the weather is fine, not windy???'  I have a red light on the receiver as well as a green light with the message that the receiver has lost the satellite signal.   I've unplugged, done a few other things Google has suggested. Do I want to do a reset? or just wait?

If I were you I would check the signal strength of the channels (transponder) you normally watch. If you do not know how, your receiver instruction manual. It will explain what buttons to push on your remote control. Something happened to cut your signal strength. Maybe it is as simple as tightening the cable that comes from the satellite dish (LNB) and connects to the back of your receiver. Or maybe for some yet to be discovered reason, your is signal is too weak. There are all kinds of reasons why this happened, most of which can be fixed either by you or a techie, once you figure out what went wrong
