ComputerGuy
There are, luckily, bunches of new smartwatche brands with BP features. EG: https://www.amazon.com/Waterproof-Bluetooth-Pressure-Pedometer-Smartphone/dp/B06XGCZR78 What I like about them is they do so much more than just checking your BP. The CoWatch, for one, has Alexa built in and has multiple faces and dozens of apps, including answering the phone to tell your doctor what your BP is... http://www.imcotechnology.com/imco-watch/
CHILLIN
The IMCO watch seems to offer heart rate, not blood pressure. Price is good though. Also the "waterproof" one says do not immerse in water. Many of these gadgets and alarm systems have lithium ion batteries. I thought they were banned for air travel, air delivery? AngusMactavish
5 minutes ago, CHILLIN said: I thought they were banned for air travel, air delivery? If they were, there would be no passengers. There are restrictions about air shipments of the batteries and they are minimal, aimed mostly at the battery suppliers. Of course, there was an appropriate ban on a particular faulty Samsung model of phone and it used LI batteries.
ComputerGuy
My point being there are lots of watches out there now that do BP, along with many other things, for those that might be interested. I gave a couple of examples. The iMCO watch shows this on their page; see the red circled part. The claim in your article might be true if it was the first one that ONLY measures blood pressure, but see: https://www.heartisans.com/
Jreboll
There are so many variables that can cause fluctuations in blood pressure that I would take any results with a grain of salt
ComputerGuy
The same is true with cuffs for use at drugstores. However, they are close enough.
Ferret
Blood pressure changes throughout the course of the day. Realistically, you should take your pressure at the same time every day to monitor it... usually in the morning. A good cuff style portable that has been checked against your Doctor's equipment (for calibration) is easy to use. Constantly being aware of and reminded of your blood pressure is... well... enough to put your blood pressure up. YMMV.
