bdlngton
I am a permanent resident going on a cruise that leaves from San Diego but makes two ports of call in Mexico. Does anybody know the procedure regarding immigration when visiting those ports of call? I do not want to jeopardize my permanent residency by not following the correct procedure when entering and departing Mexico, even if only for several hours. RVGRINGO
The ship will have a passenger list and individual passengers seldom actually go through customs/immigrations procedures in a formal manner. If you do, just show your Residente Permanente card, as you would if asked when crossing the border on foot. It is not something to worry about. Just be sure you never, ever, fill out an FMM as a tourist; always check OTHER and add your visa number in the place indicated and/or print Residente Permanente at the top of both halves of the form.
