ComputerGuy
The road has heaved so much in one spot on the bypass, just past the first main curve as you head towards the highway to Guad, that my car almost flew off the road. It is difficult to distinguish from the flat pavement. Coming back, there are several gigantic sink holes, enough to wipe out your tire rim. Be checking for both these never-to-be-repaired problems. And all this exists while they have also paved a shortcut off/on ramp coming in from Joco proper.
Metuchenmama
Thanks for the info. I plan to go that way on Thursday. I will drive cautiously on the by pass or perhaps drive the old way, though Jocotopec and onto the highway. Any suggestions as to which is better? Since you have been forewarned, I'm sure you'll see it. Coming back, it's easy to get some speed up, but drive a bit slower until you see the holes. vetteforron
The road has many bad areas. I was on it Sunday with my Vette no fun because I cannot drive 120 mph!

tomgates
The first exit westbound is Lopez Mateo, which is where the Joco route deadends.
